Cushing's Disease – Finding a Natural Way to Heal

[ad_1]

Cushing's disease will occur when the body is exposed to high levels of cortisol for a long period. Many people experience this syndrome as a side-effect of taking necessary hormones, such as prednisone or hydrocortisone, to treat asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, or other inflammatory diseases.

Many treatments exist for those who suffer from Cushing's. But first, let's take a look at how this disease occurs in the body.

Cortisol is a normal hormone that is produced in the adrenal glands, above each kidney. This hormone helps the body respond to stress and change. It helps nutrients flow, stimulates the liver to raise blood sugar, and helps control the levels of water in the body.

Cortisol production is regulated by adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH), which is created in the pituitary gland, just below the brain. When too much cortisol is produced, or an excess is consumed in order to treat disease, changes occur.

Most people with this disease will suffer from fatigue, muscle weakening, high blood pressure and blood sugar. Other common symptoms include irritability, anxiety and depression.

The only way to treat Cushing's disease is to reduce the amount of cortisol being produced in the adrenal glands. In order for the body to return to producing normal amounts of cortisol, the immune system must be boosted.

Cushing's is a disease that the scientific community at-large is still learning about. Advances in technology continue to improve their knowledge. Keep in mind that alternative treatments, such as herbal and homeopathic remedies, boost your immune system naturally. Many who suffer from this disease have had success with alternative therapies.
