This is the adorable moment a hamster repeatedly plays dead in his cage in a display akin to the final scene of a tragic film.

The footage was captured by married couple Fahed and Dania, who frequent the pet shop in Malaysia on their lunch breaks.

The video begins as the playful hamster energetically scurries around its cage as the other hamsters around him gnaw on their food.
The hamster suddenly stops and falls backwards onto the floor appearing stiff and  lays motionless for a time before getting up and scamper around again.

The cute animal repeats the movement as his friends seem completely unfazed by the dramatic sequence as Dania can be heard laughing at the hilarious sight.

The couple said that they thought the small animal had actually died when they saw him in the hamsters corner.

Fahed Al Kerdi, 29, and his wife Dania Barakat, 24, work for the same company in Shah Alam, Malaysia.

The couple usually stop at the ‘Pets Wonderland’ shop near their office.

‘We love the Hamsters corner, where you see these tiny creatures doing funny moves in their lovely world,’ Fahed said. 

‘The Hamster gone crazy and start to pretend like he is in theater and acting the scene of dying old man. 

‘If I didn’t saw him doing that a while ago, I would have definitely believed he was dead!  

‘At the first look we really believed that he passed away already, but after a while he kept repeating the scene, so maybe he is practicing for his next play.’
Looking for attention? The hamster repeats the movement but doesn’t seem to get the reaction it’s looking for. The amused couple caught the funny scene on video
