Dwarf Hamster Care & Keeping

[ad_1]

Until you've had the pleasure of owning and enjoying your very own dwarf hamster, you do not know what furry, lovable energy is all about. These diminutive little furballs are absolute bundles of joy in a tiny little package. Here's all you need to know.

The Dwarf Hamster comes in several different varieties, sizes, and colors, but one thing is common to all of them … playful activity! Whatever you choose a Russian Dwarf Hamster, a Winter White Dwarf Hamster, A Roborovski's Dwarf Hamster, or a Chinese Dwarf Hamster, know and appreciate that the name of the game is fun!

Make sure you provide sufficient space for these little guys (and gals!) To run around their enclosure, and enough substrate (bedding material) so they can climb, dig, and build nests to their little heart's content. Give them an exercise wheel that's the right size for them, an exercise ball for safe play when they're out of their enclosure, and plenty of fresh food and water. You can even train them to use a litter box!

Start handling your little dwarf hamster at a young age (not before ten days though!) So they will get accustomed to being handled, and get to know your scent. Then, when your friends come over, you can amaze them with your dwarf hamster's tricks and antics. Be careful! They are the natural escape artists of the animal kingdom and, once lost, are very difficult to find again.

You can even learn to tell the boys and girls apart – and you should, or you'll have lots of unexpected baby hamsters you will not know what to do with! Breeding dwarf hamsters is much like promoting any other small mammal. Let the babies alone with mama for at least 10 days, and they'll usually be just fine. Then, transplant them to their own enclosure.

Enjoy your dwarf hamster, and care for them properly, and they'll give you plenty of fun and enjoyment!
