Children love pets because they are fond of their cuteness. Some children like animals having fur like rabbits, tarantulas, cats, hamsters and dogs. Sometimes the children demand an animal as pet which may not be good for him. It is the responsibility of the parents to decide the best pet for their kid keeping in view his safety and health. Some children love spiders and some are fascinated by slugs and snails. They always try to hold them in their hands, that's very strange, is not it? Small insects creeping on the ground or wall attract the children. The children love to follow them, hold them; sometimes they keep them in their drawers or geometry boxes. Very strange, is not it? But they do so, why? No one knows why.
It has been observed that women's and children's likes are the same as far as pets are concerned. Moreover the women love pets more than men. So children and women take better care for their pets than men. Sometimes children love to keep that pet which has no attraction for older people. Their elders do try to persuade them to avoid that sort of pets but children not only insist on keeping them but they also take better care of their pets than anyone else at home. In turn the pets also respond positively to the children.
Rabbit is considered to be the pet that wins most love of the children. But the children should be taught how to take better care of rabbits. Rabbits live for almost 6 to 7 years. They are either either indoors or in the hutch out of the house. Fancy rats are also beloved pets for children. They become good companions of children. The life span of fancy rats is about 2 to 5 years. They need somewhat comparatively large cage to be kept in. They very easily understand the inmates. The Guinea Pigs are very friendly to children and if they are handled very carefully, they enjoy the company of children. They can be tamed easily.
Dogs, especially small ones who belong to the small statured species of dogs, are a big source of entertainment for the children. They are the best companions of man, especially of children. They not only provide accompaniment but they also guard the children in all situations. Most of them live up to 12 years or so. They have proved good friends of man so far. Fancy mice are also the center of children's attraction. They live for 2 to 3 years. They can move more actively at night. Gold fish are cheap to buy and they do not need much care. They live for almost 25 years. Ferrets can be tamed and trained easily. They usually live with other ferrets. they live from 6-7 years. Cats win the attraction of children very easily. They are loved by the kids. They live up to 14-18 years. They can be cared for easily. They do not need extreme care.
Some kids also love to keep goats, especially those who live in the countryside because people need a lot of room and separate space to be kept. They are very loving and intelligent too. They are termed as escape artists.
