What do you mean, detox? I'm not on drugs! That may be your thought when you hear the word "detox". Every person on earth is a candidate for being "on drugs" in the sense that we are all exposed to harmful chemicals that act as toxins or in some cases like drugs in the body. These toxins wreak all kinds of havoc in the human body and need to be removed. Detox, is a general term for ridding the body of toxins.
Going on a detox diet will help your body to rid itself of these unwanted toxins. Doing a detox diet is not for people who do not have a strong will. If you are tired of being overweight, and tired all the time, then sometimes that will motivate you to "stick" with the program. Other motivations may be feeling depressed most of the time, contending with frequent headaches, all over body aches that debilitate, or "brain fog". If you are determined to try to do something about these problems, then you are ready to detox.
To detox, you must help your body through the process. It naturally detoxes itself if it is not too clogged. What clogs up the detox process? Piling the toxins on the body continuously, does not allow it time to process and expel the toxins. If you have a skin disorder this could be a symptom of a clogged system; Egypt, if you have bowel problems such as dirrhea or constipation, this is a definite sign of a "clog" problem. Diarrhea occurs when the colon is so clogged that the only way waste can get out is as a liquid.
One fairly easy detox diet is the apple diet. Apples are eaten through the day. The apples have the fiber and a mix of minerals that are helpful in the detox process. They are easily digested and allow the digestive system to rest, since they contain enzymes that help in the digestive process. Apples are best ateed peeled, at first to ease the digestion process. It is best to use organic apples. Because apples are tasty, this diet is not hard to follow. Only the whole, raw apple is eaten …. the apples should not be cooked in any way or "juiced". The apple juice has a concentrated sugar that the whole apple does not, and is more beneficial to the effects of the cleanse. Try this diet for three or four days drinking several glasses of water each day to help "flush" the toxins out of the body.
If you find yourself yearning to have something other than an apple, think about the results you are working to achieve and take another bite of apple or a glass of water instead. You will be very pleased with the pleasant results.
