Yeast infection is sometimes classified as a sexually transmitted disease, which is correct. Whether it's a man or woman who has the infection first, it can be transmitted to the partner through sexual contact. Sometimes the condoms with cream that kills other STDs such as the HIV virus are more likely to contribute to creating a yeast infection.

As with all sexually transmitted diseases, unprotected sex increases the chance of getting the infection if one partner has it.

Most people connect yeast or Candida infections with women so most people think that only women can get one. This is not true. Men can get a yeast infection just as easily as women and for most of the same reasons. If they are not diagnosed and treated, it is very easy to pass the infection on to their partner. If both are not appreciated at the same time, the infection can be passed back and forth over and over again.

Symptoms of a yeast infection in men include burning, severing itching, and pain during intercourse. Men get infections for most of the same reasons as women. We have yeast present in our bodies at all times. There is bacteria in our bodies that we consider "good" that keeps the yeast from multiplying out of control. When something happens to our bodies that reduces the good bacteria, the result of the multiplying yeast is a yeast infection.

Some of the reasons for a yeast infection include, use of antibiotics, high levels of sugar in the blood and a lower immune system. All of these make the body unacceptable to the yeast or Candida Albicans to grow. There are treatments for these symptoms but the best thing to do is to treat the undering cause. That way, the infection does not continue to return over and over again.
