A healthy way to lose weight and prevent hemorrhoids is with a healthy vegan diet. Constipation, poor eating habits and stress are common reasons that hemorrhoids develop. Hemorrhoids are inflamed, swollen blood vessels in and around the anus and lower rectum which cause severe itch, pain and bleeding. With the physical pain there is often a feeling of shame and embarrassment that makes people suffer in silence.
That is no way to live! If you have hemorrhoids or are recovering from hemorrhoid removal a vegan diet might be the best thing for you. I’m a newbie when it comes to vegan diets. I’m not a newbie to having hemorrhoid laser surgery after a bad case of internal piles. I’m not going to kid you, they hurt something fierce like I never felt before. I never realized that sitting down, moving or using the bathroom could be so painful.
I had been carrying around a few extra pounds for much of my life. I didn’t exercise as often as I should have and handled stress by eating junk food. Constipation and straining on the toilet took its toll on my lower rectum. The first time I felt sharp pain and saw blood in my stool I freaked out. Talk about anxiety! My doctor was a nice and very fit chap that calmed me down. I was going to need hemorrhoid laser surgery done, but he told me recovery was not bad.
After I healed he told me that my diet needed to change to prevent hemorrhoids from coming back. He was a bit older than me, but was in much better shape. I asked what he did to stay fit. My doctor ate a vegan diet paired with Tai Chi. The smooth gentle body movements of Tai Chi lower stress and offer other health benefits. I thought this was not a very Western medicine approach to getting fit.
I ended up finding a vegan diet eBook online and downloaded it straightaway. The health benefits to eating a vegan diet went beyond just preventing hemorrhoids. Plant-based diets give the body all the nutrition it needs without the bad stuff collecting in the colon leading to constipation and straining when using the toilet. You can stop hemorrhoids before they start or after recovering from hemorrhoid removal by learning about the health benefits of a vegan diet.
There is so much super information on vegan diets that I can’t cover it all in this short moment of sharing with you. I do know eating vegetables, fruits, whole grains and cutting out meat products is good for proper colon health. I’ve only been on a vegan diet for a month. In this time I’ve lost a few extra pounds, have more spring in my step and am not eating junk food to battle stress. There are no signs of my hemorrhoids returning.
I told my friend a contributing writer to the same hemorrhoid blog as me about switching to a vegan diet. We’ll see if he comes around to it. We both agree that if you even have the slightest discomfort in your rectal region go see a doctor. The sooner hemorrhoids are treated the less it takes to have them removed.
