With the big day approaching quickly, the race is on to get the blockbuster toy of 2009, Zhu Zhu Pets. Since the early of November when the shortages were announced by the big toy stores, like Walmart and Toys'r'Us, the clamor has skyrocketed for parents to secure these in demand toys for their kids.
In the last week or so it is not just the zhu zhu hamsters themselves that have become harder to get hold of but now the accessories in the range are now becoming scarce too. So even if you have your Zhu Zhu Pet wrapped up waiting Christmas day if you want to add some of the accessories to increase your kids enjoyment, then you are going to have to jump right back in to the rat race no pun intended.
You have to give credit to the manufacturers, not for reducing the amount available but for creating a very cheap cute toy that all kids want but for adding a wide range of accessories to go with the pets that every kid is going to want.
Accessories like the hamster fun house for instance. Now this is the number one in demand accessory for the zhu zhu pets because it is the building block so to speak that all the other accessories add onto. It is basically a house, or as the makers call it the hamster habitat. It even has a tunnel connecting the two main areas just like a real hamster house might have.
Once you have this, you can add all sorts of wonderful extras like the spiral slide and ramp, the hamster wheel, the adventure ball, the list just goes on and on. There is even a surfboard for the more adventurous hamster and for the more conservative there is a car and garage.
As you can see it is not just a fight to get the fast depleting Zhu Zhu Pets but also secure some of their accessories. If you do manage to get your hands on them, you will have only some very happy children but also some more contented hamster too.
