There are millions of houses with pets. These pets can be anything from a dog, cat, bird, ferret or any other animal that you keep in the house. Of course the most common of these are dogs, cats and birds. Some people may go a little bit exotic and have a snake. The majority of people like having a pet in the house. Many people will have more than one so they can keep each other company while they are out of the house for a couple hours.
Pets are companions for single people. They are there when you walk in the door to greet you. They may sleep in your bed with you at night. They want to play with you. They are just happy to be around you. A pet will help take the loneliness away from the persons that are living by themselves. They also are there for you to come home to late at night. They will take some of that fear of walking into an empty house away.
Pets for older people can do wonders. There are a whole bunch of nursing homes that have a dog or cat as a pet for the residents to enjoy. In fact, having these creatures at a nursing home can actually improve the length of the peoples lives there and their health.
Kids want a pet. Whether it be a cat, dog or hamster. It could be something else to. Having a pet to take care of will teach a child responsibility. The animal and the child will have a strong bond. They will be friends. If it is a dog, the thing may follow them around the neighborhood where ever they go. They may wait at the bus stop for the child to get home. When the child is scared by those weird noises at night, having the dog in bed with them will ease the tension.
One thing you will notice about people that are married and have a pet is that one of them will like the pet more than their spouse. They will treat the animal the way their spouse would want to be treated. Dinner is ready at the same time every night. They will be taken for walks. They will be paid attention to. If you are as good as your pet believes you to be, you are probably a really good person. Pets bring comfort, company, companionship, friendship and loyalty to the relationship between animal and owner.
