Zhu Zhu pet hamsters, originally known as Go Go Pets, have become one of these years hottest selling toys, topping Christmas lists for children of all ages. They are the first interactive plush toy hamsters in the world. There are five different varieties of Zhu Zhu Hamsters, and a ton of accessories to make interacting with them even more enjoyable. Each of the hamsters have 2 different play modes: nurture and adventure. In nurture mode, kids can cuddle them, and pet them while the hamsters squeak and talk back to them. While in adventure mode the hamsters will explore their environment and react to specific things around them. If they are in the hamster house and enter the bedroom, they will make alarm clock noises. If they enter the bathroom, you will hear them making flushing sounds. The Zhu Zhu Hamsters can make over 40 different sound effects.
The five different varieties of hamsters available are Patches (who comes with the Pet Set), Num Nums, Mr. Squiggles, Pipsqueak and Chunk. Each of the hamsters come in different colors and each has their own personalities. Patches loves to eat flowers, while Num Nums loves exploring for any kind of food. Chunk is the surfer with an easy going personality. Pipsqueak is small in size but it is daredevil and very curious. Mr. Squiggles is the explorer of the group and is always trying to find new adventures to go on.
There are many accessories you can buy to enable your Zhu Pet Hamster to explore even further. There are different vehicles available for them each coming with their own accessory. The surfboard comes with a sleep dome, the skateboard comes with a u-turn ramp, and the car comes with a garage. You can buy exercise wheels to give them a place to play in the fun house and an exercise ball to be contain them for when they are outside of it. If your child wants to take their pet with them, carriers are available in an assortment of different colors. You can even buy the hamsters their own little bed and blanket set.
The Zhu Zhu Hamsters are not recommended for children under the age of 4 year old because of the small wheels. There was also a rumor about them being recalled, but that turned out to be not true. The Zhu Zhu Pets meet and all safety standards that are required.
