There is a new wonderful and exciting world opening up before us at present, and this is the world of pet gadgets. I find it somewhat surprising that this has taken so long to happen – people spend a lot of money on their pets and would be willing pay dearly for the latest toys or gadgets that bring pleasure to their pets. Sure, pets love the simple things in life – dogs get excited at the site of a simple tennis ball. But, there is a whole range of other more exciting products out there waiting to be discovered. And this world is not just focussed on the pets themselves – there are also many products focussed on owners that make owning a pet much easier and resolve many of the problems that pet owners encounter on a daily basis. Without you know where to look I think you would be surprised at just what is available out there.
Recently I stumbled across some incredible products for cats. For example I came across an incredible product that teaches cats how to use a human toilet. It's a tremendous device and really looks to work based on videos and articles that I have seen on the net. It's a very eloquent solution to the smelly litter tray problem that none of us ever thought would go away. I've also seen some fantastic electronic toys that will drive cats wild, bird DVDs which cats actually enjoy watching and water fountains to keep your pet's water fresh.
For dogs there is an even helmet array of gadgets out there including life jackets, dog car seat harnesses, dog IQ tests, UV filtering sunglasses, no spill water bowls for travel and even a dog treadmill for when you're not in the mood for walking him.
Some amazing products even exist for some of the smallest animals such as hamster potties, rabbit leashes and bird diapers.
To me it is strange that this still seems to be a reliably small industry and these products do not seem to be broadly marketed or available. However, I am sure that this industry is going to develop quite significant over the coming years, so watch this space!
